When and why did you decide to install solar panels on your house?
I had wanted them for a long time. My cousin has them and we had talked about it. I met Solarmente thanks to my cousin, who was very happy with the company. He called, Sebastián contacted me and from there everything started. I didn’t have to compare with anyone, I went directly.
Do you have a battery and have you considered it?
I don’t have it. I would like to, but Solarmente advised me at the time that it was not feasible now. Although I would like to save energy, it is not yet affordable for the price.
How much are you saving thanks to the plates?
I don’t know at the moment. I have been wearing the plates for two months. I will be able to assess the results later.
How was the installation process?
It was very quick. It was a maximum of one month between the first contact and them coming to the house. As for the installation, in 6 hours it was all done and working.
Did you have questions to answer?
No. They did everything very well. First Sebastián came and told me that everything was correct, they had already checked via satellite that there were no shadows or other problems. Then the chief installer came to do a check and told me that the angle of my roof was already perfect, that there was no need for a structure. He looked at where it would go, what the roof was made of, what would be needed and explained everything perfectly. There was no problem at all.
Have you become more conscious of your consumption?
Of course, at first you go a bit crazy. You want to find out how much each device actually consumes. It depends on what you produce, you either put it on or you don’t. And if you put it on, you are already aware of what you spend. And if you do, you’re already aware of what you’re spending. I didn’t know this kind of thing before. With the application you have on your phone now I know how much an electric radiator, a big TV, an air conditioner, an oven, a microwave, a washing machine… consume. You see what your house consumes when no one is home. It’s funny, it makes you more aware.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your experience with Solarmente?
In principle a 10, but like everything in life, nothing is perfect. There are still things to sort out with some paperwork, but despite this, all very good. Definitely out of 9.
Would you recommend Solarmente?
Definitely. I have already done so. There are some who have fallen by the wayside and some who have not been able to, but I keep sending them. In fact, I carry their card with me and I tell those who ask me to take their photo and to get a move on. Because people see the badges and ask who did it and how much it cost, everyone wants to know.
Any areas for improvement?
The paperwork. I spoke to Sebastian today about this. One good thing is that there is no problem with communication, they are always there. I have already sent him everything he told me and he will find out for me.
Anything you would like to add?
It is very convenient, I think that in 5 years I will have recovered my investment. Even if the electricity stays the same as it is now, you cushion it. As you know that you don’t pay, you consume more at certain times of the day. I prefer to consume rather than be paid, to take advantage of that consumption for my own well-being.
